The Three of Us (2023) Ore Agbaje-Williams "An astute, composed and quietly hilarious observation of identity, marriage and friendship from a unique storyteller."
The Nigerwife (2023) Vanessa Walters "Evokes skillfully the atmosphere of a wealthy life by the Lagos Lagoon . . . A shimmering success."
Good Intentions (2022) Kasim Ali "A sensitive, smooth-toned, and absorbingly honest novel that makes us question our inner worlds at a time when this kind of self-examination might be the thing that saves us."
Love Marriage (2022) Monica Ali "Funny, warm, powerful... Love Marriage has a warm intelligence and a sharp observational power, making the characters and the world of the story feel very alive."
Assembly (2021) Natasha Brown "Bold and original, with a cool intelligence, and so very truthful about the colonialist structure of British society: how it has poisoned even our language, making its necessary dismantling almost the stuff of dreams. I take hope from Assembly, not just for our literature but also for our slow awakening."
The Vanishing Half (2020) Brit Bennett "An impressive and arresting novel. Perceptive in its insights and poised in execution, this is an important, timely examination of the impact of race on personality, experience and relationships."
Girl, Woman, Other (2019) Bernardine Evaristo "Bernardine Evaristo’s books are always exciting, always subversive, a reminder of the boundless possibilities of literature and the great worth in reaching for them. Her body of work is incredible."
