Ian Hamilton recommends
thumb
Beach Blues (2024)
(Beach , book 2)
John Lawrence Reynolds
"Reynolds has created a micro-universe populated with characters that are real, sometimes tortured and always compelling."
thumb
Fifty-Four Pigs (2022)
(Dr. Bannerman Vet Mystery, book 1)
Philipp Schott
"Original, well-constructed, with a cast of interesting characters -- I hope this isn't the last we'll read about Dr. Peter Bannerman and Pippin."
thumb
Copperhead Road (2022)
Brad Smith
"Brad Smith does it again with Copperhead Road. Writing that smacks of Larry McMurtry--great plot driven by fascinating characters and clever dialogue just speeds along. My only regret is that I finished it too quickly."
