After graduating from West Point Military Academy, Mississippi-born Sam Lockwood had been posted to faraway Arizona Territory, where he soon grew to love the hostile desert known as Apacheria. But the Civil War dragged him back to Mississippi. It was only through a strange twist of Fate that he was to return to his beloved Apacheria.
